Without a Prescription

Urispas is prescribed for:
- Uncontrollable urge to pass urine;
- Spasms of the bladder or urethra due to catheters, cystoscopy or urinary tract surgery;
- Passing urine too frequently;
- Pain or difficulty urinating;
- Pain in the bladder/above the pubic bone;
- Needing to pass urine at night;
- Incontinence;

Urispas prevents spasms in:
- Excessive nighttime urination;
- Frequency of urination;
- Inability to hold urine caused by urinary tract infections;
- Pubic area pain;
- The urinary tract and relieves the painful or difficult urination;
- Urinary urgency;

Urispas is taken in combination with antibiotics to treat the infection.

Contraindications

Urispas is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- if you have abdominal bleeding;
- if you have muscle relaxation problems (especially the sphincter muscle);
- if you have stomach or intestinal blockage;
- if you have the eye condition known as glaucoma;
- if you have urinary tract blockage;

Side Effects

Urispas side effects that you should report to your health care professional or doctor as soon as possible:
- A wareness of your heartbeat;
- Allergic skin reactions;
- Balance problems involving the inner ear;
- Blurred vision and vision changes;
- Blurred vision;
- Confusion;
- Diarrhoea;
- Difficulty or pain on passing urine;
- Drowsiness;
- Dry mouth;
- Faster than normal heart beat;
- Fluttery heartbeat;
- Headache;
- High body temperature;
- Hives;
- Itchy rash;
- Mental confusion (especially in the elderly);
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Nausea;
- Nervousness;
- Painful or difficult urination;
- Rapid heartbeat;
- Vertigo;
- Very high body temperature;
- Vomiting;

Overdose

Reported Urispas overdose symptoms are:
- Warm red skin dry mouth and increased body temperature;
- Mental confusion;
- Increased heart rate and blood pressure;
- Hallucinations;
- Decreased ability to sweat;
- Convulsions;

Dosage

CHILDREN

Safety and effectiveness of Urispas in children under 12 years of age have not been established.

ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER AGE 12

When your symptoms have improved, your doctor may reduce the dosage.

The usual dose of Urispas is one or two 100-milligram tablets 3 or 4 times a day.
