Structure

Tamsulosin 0.2mg Capsules
Each capsule contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.2mg as modified release pellets)

Tamsulosin 0.4mg Capsules
Each capsule contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4mg (as modified release pellets)

Without a Prescription

Tamsulosin (tamsulosin HCl) capsules are prescribed for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Tamsulosin capsules are not intended for use as an anti-hypertensive drug.

Dosage

Recommended dosage is 0.4 mg once daily.
Dose should be taken 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
If the patient is unable to tolerate 0.4 mg, then patient should receive 0.2 mg once daily.
Maximum recommended dose is 0.8 mg once daily for patients who fail to respond to the 0.4 mg dose after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
If Tamsulosin has been discontinued or interrupted for several days at either the 0.2 mg or 0.4 mg/day dosage, then therapy should be started again at the same dose.

Contraindications

Tamsulosin is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
Tamsulosin capsules are contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to tamsulosin HCl or any component of Tamsulosin capsules.
