Parkinson's disease

Pramipexole is prescribed for the treatment of signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease.

Pramipexole is prescribed to treat:
- Poor muscle control associated with Parkinson"s disease;
- Spasms;
- Stiffness;
- Tremors;

Without a Script

Pramipexole is prescribed to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease - a progressive disorder:
- Eventually difficulty with walking and talking;
- Muscle rigidity;
- Shaking;
- Tremor;
- Weakness;

Dosage

ADULTS

The usual dose is 0.125mg 3 times a day. Your pharmacist may increase the dose every 5-7 days until the maximum dose of 4.5mg a day is reached.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include:
- Agitation;
- Chest pain;
- Confusion;
- Dizziness;
- Fainting;
- Hallucinations;
- Muscle twitching;
- Nausea;
- Tingling sensation;
- Uncontrollable movements;
- Vomiting;
- Weakness;

Side Effects

Side effects may include:
- Weakness;
- Vomiting;
- Vision abnormalities;
- Urinary tract infections;
- Upset stomach;
- Swelling;
- Swelling of the lips tongue face;
- Sweating;
- Nausea;
- Nasal inflammation;
- Mild nausea;
- Memory loss;
- Lack of appetite;
- Involuntary movement (jerky motions);
- Insomnia;
- Increased urination;
- Increased muscle tone;
- Hives;
- Headache;
- Hallucinations;
- Falling asleep unexpectedly;
- Fainting;
- Dry mouth;
- Drowsiness;
- Dizziness;
- Dizziness upon standing;
- Difficulty walking;
- Difficulty in breathing;
- Difficulty breathing;
- Decreased sensitivity to touch;
- Decreased appetite;
- Constipation;
- Confusion;
- Closing of the throat;
- Chest pain;
- Blackout (especially when rising from a sitting or lying position);
- Arthritis;
- Allergic reactions;
- Agitation or anxiety;

Contraindications

Pramipexole is contraindicated in patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to Pramipexole or Pramipexole ingredients.

Pramipexole is contraindicated if Pramipexole gives you an allergic reaction.
