Without a Script

Pimozide is prescribed to help control involuntary or unconscious movements (tics) both physical and verbal.
Pimozide is prescribed to suppress phonic and motor tics of patients who are suffering from Tourette's disorder.
Pimozide is prescribed to reduce tics in persons with Tourette's Disorder.

Contraindications

Pimozide is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- Difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate;
- Epilepsy or seizures;
- Glaucoma;
- Heart problems such as a history of heart attack, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, etc;
- Kidney disorders;
- Liver disease;

Side Effects

Pimozide side effects that you should report to your health care professional or doctor as soon as possible:
- Allergic reaction (throat closing difficulty breathing swelling of your lips, face or tongue or hives);
- Blurred vision or eye sensitivity to direct light;
- Diarrhea or constipation;
- Dizziness or drowsiness;
- Dry mouth;
- Fever;
- Insomnia;
- Irregular heartbeat;
- Nausea or vomiting;
- Seizures or convulsions;
- Behavior changes;
- Blurred vision;
- Change in appetite;
- Change in sex drive;
- Drowsiness;
- Dry mouth;
- Headache;
- Menstrual changes;
- Muscle cramps;
- Nervousness;
- Sleeplessness may;
- Stomach upset;

If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.

Notify your doctor immediately of:
- Abnormal tongue/face/jaw movements (puffing cheeks chewing puckering mouth);
- Chest pain;
- Difficulty speaking;
- Difficulty walking;
- Drooling;
- Increased body heat;
- Mental confusion;
- Seizures;
- Stiff muscles;
- Sweating;
- Tremors;
- Unusual eye movements;

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur:
- Irregular heartbeat;
- Fainting;
- Dizziness;

Overdose

Reported Pimozide overdose symptoms are:
- Coma;
- Dizziness;
- Drowsiness;
- Sometimes even death;
- Uncontrollable movements;
