Structure

Each uncoated tablet contains Nelfinavir mesylate equivalent to Nelfinavir 250 mg.

Without a Prescription

Nelfinavir is prescribed for:
Nelvir in combination with other antiretroviral agents is prescribed for the treatment of HIV infection.

Dosage

Adults: The recommended dose is 1250 mg (five 250 mg tablets) twice daily or 750 mg (three 250 mg tablets) three times daily.
Nelvir should be taken with a meal or light snack.

Pediatric Patients (2-13 years): 20-30 mg/kg per dose, three times daily with a meal or a light snack.
The pharmacokinetics of twice daily dosing of Nelvir in pediatric patients has not been established.

Contraindications

Nelfinavir is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- Nelvir is contraindicated in patients with clinically significant hypersensitivity to any of its components.
- Nelvir should not be administered concurrently with cisapride, triazolam, midazolam, ergot derivatives, amiodarone or quinidine because Nelvir may affect the hepatic metabolism of these drugs and create the potential for serious and/or life-threatening adverse events.
