Eulexin belongs to a class of drugs known as antiandrogens.
Eulexin is prescribed along with drugs such as Lupron to treat prostate cancer.
For some forms of prostate cancer, radiation therapy is given along with the drugs.
Giving Eulexin with Lupron, which reduces the body's testosterone levels, is one way of treating prostate cancer.
It blocks the effect of the male hormone testosterone.
Eulexin side effects that you should report to your health care professional or doctor as soon as possible:
- Loss of sex drive;
- Hot flashes;
- Breast tissue swelling and tenderness;
When the drugs are prescribed along with radiation therapy, additional side effects may include:
- Intestinal problems;
- Blood in the urine;
- Bleeding from the rectum;
- Bladder inflammation;
The recommended adult Eulexin dosage is 2 capsules 3 times a day at 8-hour intervals for a total daily dosage of 750 mg.
