Clarinex is an antihistamine prescribed to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis).
Clarinex side effects that you should report to your health care professional or doctor as soon as possible:
- Sore throat;
- Dry mouth;
CHILDREN 6 MONTHS TO 11 YEARS OLD
For children 12 months to 5 years old: The usual dose is 1.25 (one-half teaspoonful) once a day.
The dose should be given with a dropper that measures ml (one-half teaspoonful equals 2.5 ml).
For children 6 years to 11 years old: The usual dose is 2.5 (1 teaspoonful of syrup) once a day.
For children 6 months to 11 months old: The usual dose is 1.0 (2 ml) once a day.
The dose should be given with a dropper that measures ml.
A recommended dose has not been established for children with kidney or liver disease.
ADULTS AND CHILDREN 12 YEARS AND OLDER
If you have kidney or liver disease, the recommended dose is 5 every other day.
For adults and children 12 and older, the usual dose is 5 (1 tablet or 2 teaspoonfuls of syrup) once a day.
