Without a Prescription

Alfuzosin is prescribed for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Alfuzosin is prescribed to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate-a condition technically known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH.

Dosage

The dosage is one 10mg tablet daily, taken immediately after the same meal each day.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include:
- Weakness;
- Upper respiratory tract infection;
- Headache;
- Fatigue;
- Faster but weaker pulse;
- Fainting;
- Dizziness;
- Dizziness (due to postural hypotension);
- Clammy or cold skin;

Side Effects

Side effects may include:
- Upper respiratory tract infection;
- Tiredness;
- Tired feeling;
- Stuffy or runny nose;
- Sore throats;
- Painful penis erection (or an erection that lasts more than 4 hours);
- Headache;

Contraindications

Alfuzosin is contraindicated in patients with moderate or severe hepatic insufficiency, since Alfuzosin blood levels are increased in these patients.

Alfuzosin is contraindicated with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors such as:
- Since alfuzosin blood levels;
- Ritonavir;
- Ketoconazole;
- Itraconazole;

Alfuzosin is contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to Alfuzosin or any component of Alfuzosin.

Alfuzosin is contraindicated if you have moderate or severe liver problems.

Alfuzosin is contraindicated if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Alfuzosin.
